The Honda Classic Cares program lets local charities team up with The Honda Classic and present their donor base with a chance to win a new Honda automobile, while at the same time, the charity receives 100% of the proceeds plus a 5% matching contribution courtesy of The Honda Classic.

 

The Honda Classic collects all donations and write checks back to the charities for 100% of the money plus the 5% matching bonus.

6th Annual Luncheon – Friday, October 28, 2022

Our 6th Annual Luncheon will be Friday, October 28, 2022 at the Wanderers Club. Doors open at 11:30 a.m. and the program begins at 12:00 p.m.

This year’s luncheon will be fun and interactive. Radio personality and author Scott Greenberg will emcee the event. Keynote speaker Minx Boren is a master certified coach, author, poet, and chef. Minx will be talking about  Resilience 1-2-3: Dial Down Stress, Dial Up Happiness, Dial into Your Strengths.

This year’s keynote speaker is Tino Negri, CAEd. Tino will be talking about Finding Joy in the Journey. Getting older and living with chronic illness, whether it’s you or a loved one, is a journey that is unique for each person and family. How do family and professional caregivers ease the journey that is unique for each person and family. How do family and professional caregivers ease the journey and find moments of comfort and joy? Tino will show you how to accentuate the positive, tap into the power of music, and communicate effectively and therapeutically with your loved ones.

Our Emcee will be Tim Byrd from True Oldies 95.9 FM and 106.9 FM.

Great Charity Challenge presented by Fidelity Investments – February 1, 2020

In its first 10 years, the GCC raised and donated over $13.5 million to 240 local charities. Wellington Cares was one of 25+ charities that competed on Saturday February 1, 2020, at the Palm Beach International Equestrian Center in Wellington. Equestrian Sport Productions not only takes on all of the costs of putting on the event.

Swank Farm “Chefs For Sustainable Seafood” – January 26, 2020

Please join us for an evening under the stars at a Swank Table Family Style Dinner event. Enjoy live music while you dine on amazing food carefully paired with wine and craft beer.

Volunteer Appreciation and Annual Meeting – December 6, 2019

Over 40 volunteers joined us for this annual appreciation luncheon. Also in attendance were board members and sponsors. This past year, over 50 volunteers donated 1,581 hours serving 135 participants in Wellington. Volunteers enjoyed lunch at Piatto Bravo and received a gift card all complements of Great Charity Challenge. Wellington Community Foundation donated poinsettias for participants which volunteers delivered after lunch.

Grandparents Day Event – September 7, 2019

Over 100 local residents joined us at the Wellington Green Mall – Live 360 Room for this free event open to all ages. There were board games, story time, and free lunch. The event was from 11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. and we gathered to bridge the generational divide one bond at a time.
